What is an Infopreneur?

It seems to be very trendy to add "preneur" to niche ideas and businesses.

Recently, I did a search for "preneur" and here is just a sampling of what I found:

Extrapreneur: Someone who runs a company and earns extra income without living in the same place where the company is.

E-preneur: anyone involved in e-commerce

Gopherpreneur: Billing and scheduling software

Mompreneur: Mom who works from home while raising kids

Parentpreneur...

You get the idea, right?

Consider Becoming An Infopreneur

So why not consider becoming an Infopreneur?

Everyone knows quite a bit about something. Many people could benefit from what you know about that something!

Infopreneur basically means publishing information (high value of course!) to the internet.

Consider the possibility of writing what you know and love... and earning income from it. You can add some affiliate programs and referral arrangements (which will generate extra dollars per month) to your online niche business too.

If you don't have a product or service, becoming an Infopreneur is great way to get your feet wet in the online niche business world. You can build an entire business by creating and publishing great content about a subject... just because you love it.

What Do People Look For
On The Net?

Just think about that for a minute...what do people look for on the internet? Information...and solutions. I suppose you could become a Solupreneur. Okay maybe not...let's stick to Infopreneur so everyone understands!

Most internet surfers do not have the name of a particular company in mind. They are just looking for credible, relevant and quality information that will lead them confidently to the right solution. You can build a business around being THE expert information-provider for your particular niche!

Concerned About Lack Of
Web Experience?

Are you thinking that you don't have enough Net experience to build a successful InfoNiche business? Think again... 15 year old Nori is a great example of how anyone can become an Infopreneur.

How To Become An Infopreneur

Interested? Here's how you go about it:

1. Jot down ideas about what you know and love. Visit Results to see a terrific sampling of niches. There is no limit to the number and type of niches on the internet, believe me! I have seen sites from "apple jewelry" to "zedonks" (zebra/donkey mix), I kid you not. The point here is there are people everywhere seeking the information you know about and love.

2. Check out Site Build It! which is the Site Building Program that Nori (see above) uses. It does all the techie building-type stuff allowing you to develop and build your InfoNiche. If you go with SBI!, one of the first things you will want to do it use the Manager which is a powerful brainstorming tool that will help you identify which of the ideas you came up with in Step 1 have the best potential for profit. Afterall, you are building a business! And a business needs to make money, right?

3. Once you decide on your InfoNiche, you will begin to publish articles in your own "voice." You will write all kinds of related, high value information on your chosen niche. Eventually, when the time is right for you, you may want to start an e-zine, like Nori did. An e-zine is a powerful way to keep your information in front of your readers when they are not visiting your site.

4. After you have a significant amount of high value information on your Web site, it is time to explore how you will earn income. There are several options from Affiliate Programs to Referral Relationships. You will look for what makes sense based on the Information you are providing. There are many opportunities for monetizing Information-rich niches! (Try saying that five times really fast!)

Wrap Up

You can build a successful online business by providing high value information on what you know and love. You don't have a product or service to sell...just good information that people are searching for. Take what you know from work experience, hobbies,and/or passions and build an online business that will convert your InfoNiche into income.
