Foreign Language Niche
A Foreign Language Niche Web site may be the perfect way to reach a global audience of people who desire to learn your language but wish to do so within their own time constraints. Are you fluent in a foreign language? Have you ever thought about teaching this language to others? Learning tools for foreign languages may be a "highly competitive" niche, but what if you uncovered a very small segment of the foreign language market? For example, perhaps you speak Spanish fluently. Millions of people from all over the world are taking Spanish classes. But…what if you know several dialects of Spanish? Now, we are moving toward a tighter niche! The next step might be to go to Wordtracker and look up the supply and demand for the Spanish dialects that you are fluent in. The majority of Spanish classes may teach "Spanish" but very few get into teaching the idiosyncrasies of the various dialects. A Spanish speaking person from Spain speaks quite differently than a Spanish speaking person from Puerto Rico or Mexico. If you are fluent in languages other than Spanish, French or German...your opportunities to find an untapped niche are far greater. For example, do you know how to speak Setswana or Creole or Bretagne? Even Better! Perhaps you can write well in your native language too and maybe would like to teach others how to write in that particular language. Consider this...a person born and raised in the United States but who is now finding themselves traveling to and from Japan frequently for business, may be very interested in learning how to read, write and speak Japanese. Additionally, this same person may be very short on time but could benefit from learning on his/her own time by following along on a Web site which teaches Japanese.
People Are Travelling Globally
Since people are traveling globally and in dramatically increasing numbers, the demand for foreign language learning tools and particularly in certain dialects, is increasing rapidly too. Many business people are scrambling to "crash-learn" Chinese and Japanese. Missionaries are studying numerous Third World foreign languages and dialects. Refugee Aids are educating themselves about remote cultures and their languages. Many times these people have difficulty finding quick and easy-to-follow foreign language tools. They are often in a hurry (who isn't?) and are looking to learn on their own time. Is an idea starting to take shape for you? If so, we recommend that you do further research to determine the supply and demand for your specific language interest. Ultimately you will have to decide based on the information you uncover and what you are truly passionate about. More and more, people are looking to the internet to find the information and solutions they seek. If you speak a foreign language, particularly one that is not typically offered in schools, the possibilities for “owning” a segment of the foreign language niche are excellent.
