Flexible Hours

Flexible Hours are one of the greatest benefits of a work at home business especially for Moms (or Dads!). Where else can your find your office open 24/7?

You can literally decide when the best times are for you to work based on your family's needs and schedules. Nap Time? During School Hours? Before kids are up? After they are in bed? Whatever time is best with your family and your inner clock.

With Babies and Toddlers

When you have babies and toddlers, the hours you have to devote to anything outside of nursing, feeding, rocking, comforting, bathing, cooking, cleaning and running are...well, not a lot!

That's the great thing about starting an online business. The internet is always open and you can stop and start whenever you need to.

A site visitor who is at this stage recently asked "Erin and Jen, exactly what can I do with such short blocks of time?"

Our answer to her was that initially you can daydream...think about all those things you love to do but just don't seem to have the time for anymore. Why? Because the idea for your online business concept is more than likely somewhere within you.

Then during another block of time, jot some of these ideas into a notebook which you will refer to again and again for a while.

When The Kids Are In School

Once your kids are in school, the times you have to devote to building an online business change but they also may increase, even if you have gone back to work. The older your children get, the more practiced you will get at squeezing in time to build your business.

If you have pre-schoolers, you can take some or all of the time the are in school, to work. When the kids are in all-day school, you can work strictly during school hours. When they are on school breaks such as during the holidays, you can take that time off too!

How To Work These Flexible Hours

An online business offers a different types of flexibility. Consider this. If you decide to build an online business, you can also determine how much or how little time to devote to it. You can build it at a snails pace, a little quicker or as fast as your time allows.

You can stop and start whenever you choose. You can decide to take a day off or schedule a vacation. And the best part? It's right there where you left it when you come back!

You can have lunch with your children at the time you decide on, working before and/or after. Heck, you can take a picnic with them if you'd like. Now these are flexible hours!

With an online business, you will have such flexible hours that you can arrange your day your way. If you are a night owl, (like Erin) you can learn to influence your day to be able to work in the wee hours. Same thing for early birds (like Jen) who work better before everyone wakes up for the day.

You can work an online business while the kids are napping or playing with friends. You can work it when you are waiting for your kids to finish a music lesson, or a sports practice.

Convinced? We hope so! There simply is not another job to be had with such flexibile hours.
